What is SpineMED® Decompression?
SpineMED® Decompression is a remarkable non-surgical, drug-free procedure for the treatment of back and neck pain
caused by injured or degenerated spinal discs. It works by targeting and gently relieving the pressure on the damaged segment of the spine, which eases pain and speeds up the body’s natural healing process.
Is SpineMED® Decompression for Me?
SpineMED® is designed to help patients whose pain is caused by a damaged lumbar or cervical spinal disc. SpineMED® is a non-surgical, drug-free procedure for patients suffering pain caused by bulging discs, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, post-surgical patients, spinal stenosis and generalized low back or neck pain. In order to assess patient candidacy for spinal decompression, all patients undergo an extensive health history and examination with Dr. Maher Obeid in order to verify that they will achieve maximum success from this treatment.
How Does SpineMED® Decompression Work?
Damaged intervertebral discs seldom heal because they remain under constant pressure, even while a person is at rest. SpineMED® Decompression is designed to reduce pressure inside the discs by gently separating or distracting the injured spinal segments.
Under distraction, pressure on the disc is relieved; allowing fluids, nutrients and oxygen to flow back into disc. This nutrient exchange helps the body’s natural rebuilding process, accelerates the repair and eventually heals damaged spinal discs. In addition, a reduction of intradiscal pressures may help draw the nucleus of a building or herniated disc back into the center, thereby relieving pressure on a compressed nerve root-alleviating the problem and the pain or numbness.
